The Director of Labor and Delivery (L&D) is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the operational excellence and quality of care within the facility's Labor and Delivery services. This position plays an integral part in fostering teamwork and collaboration among staff to deliver exceptional patient care. The Director collaborates closely with both the administrative and clinical teams to uphold the highest care standards, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and guidelines.
In partnership with physicians, the Director implements quality initiatives, considers economic factors, and strengthens physician-hospital alignment. The role entails developing strategic and tactical plans aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of Labor and Delivery services, including budget planning and management for both capital and operational aspects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide dynamic leadership for Labor & Delivery services.
2. Act as a role model, clearly aligning with the goals and objectives of the facility.
3. Exhibit exemplary communication skills and promote teamwork.
4. Demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written communication, including the ability to prepare detailed proposals, reports, and presentations.
5. Maintain organizational performance goals.
6. Proactively advocate for quality service delivery as a core value of the facility.
7. Oversee strategic and budgetary planning for the department.
8. Manage resources effectively, with awareness of cost implications and reimbursement processes.
9. Adhere to hospital and departmental guidelines, supporting the mission, vision, and values of HCA.
