About the Opportunity
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing services, APIs, and infrastructure that adapt to our evolving product landscape. Your extensive knowledge of backend systems will enable you to maintain a comprehensive perspective, from hardware setups to cloud environments, allowing you to make informed technical decisions that benefit both the product and the team.

This position is located in San Francisco, CA. We operate on a hybrid work model, allowing four days in the office each week, and provide relocation assistance for new hires.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain robust backend systems that prioritize high performance and security.
Develop APIs and data models that align with our evolving product requirements.
Balance immediate development needs with the long-term goals of maintainability and scalability.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless, integrated solutions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Possess 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend systems.
Demonstrate a successful history of building and scaling systems from initial stages to large-scale production.
Be proficient in Python and Go, with familiarity in various server-side technologies.
Have a strong understanding of system design principles, performance enhancement strategies, and security best practices.
Exhibit the ability to evaluate full-stack trade-offs, considering both hardware and cloud infrastructure.
(Preferred) Experience with distributed systems and cloud architecture.
(Preferred) Background in instrumentation, analytics, and performance optimization.
(Preferred) Familiarity with hardware-cloud integration or applied AI services.
