Join Us as a Senior QA Engineer — iOS & Mobile AutomationAre you an outstanding Senior QA Engineer with a passion for automated testing on iOS? At hulcan, we are seeking a talented individual who can develop Detox and XCUITest suites from the ground up, tackle grey-box synchronization challenges, and innovate a testing infrastructure that proactively prevents regressions. You will take charge of QA for our mobile platforms (React Native / iOS & Android), web (React), and backend (API) services, setting the gold standard for confident engineering deployments.Your ResponsibilitiesDesign and maintain comprehensive automated test suites for iOS (Detox, XCUITest), Android, web (Playwright/Cypress), and REST APIs, ensuring thorough coverage from start to finish.Develop iOS automation tests that cover complex scenarios beyond basic flows: including charge failures, 3DS challenges, subscription edge cases, deep-link state initialization, and Keychain/AsyncStorage configuration.Create and sustain a reliable test infrastructure for payment scenarios (utilizing Stripe test mode, WireMock fixtures, and sequential email generation) to mitigate false positives across concurrent CI runners.Set up and manage GitHub Actions / Bitrise pipelines that initiate specific iOS simulator versions, execute suites in parallel, and capture video artifacts upon failure.Collaborate effectively with engineering, product, and design teams to establish testability requirements prior to feature development.Define and document QA best practices, including contract testing (Pact/JSON Schema), flake quarantine policies, API response validation, and conventions for mocking across the stack.Oversee the bug lifecycle from identification to resolution, drafting precise technical documentation for low-level issues (API payloads, native bridge call stacks, timing traces).Champion CI/CD integration to ensure that automated tests gate every PR and release, reporting flake rates for each test over time.Your Profile7+ years of experience in software QA, primarily focused on mobile platforms, specifically iOS automated testing.Extensive hands-on experience with Detox, including grey-box idle detection, custom native module instrumentation, and debugging synchronization failures on iOS.Proficient in XCUITest, with a deep understanding of accessibility identifier strategies, launch argument injection, and Keychain seeding for state initialization.Experience testing React Native and React applications, with an understanding of how the bridge operates and fails, and the ability to spy on it without disrupting the network layer.Strong expertise in using mocks, stubs, and spies at the call-stack level, with the capability to articulate their appropriate applications and write precise, robust assertions against them.Proven track record in testing payment edge cases (card declines, capture failures, 3DS, network timeouts) predictably on both simulator and physical device CI.
