Our Team
The Vertical Ranking Team is responsible for developing machine learning systems that enhance personalized user experiences at SmartNews. We collaborate closely with Product and Business teams to create scalable recommendation solutions that boost user engagement and drive revenue across key features such as For You, Push Notifications, Follow Recommendations, Search, Ads, and new vertical experiences.
Our initiatives merge business impact with machine learning innovation. We translate product requirements into effective ranking strategies that optimize user engagement, retention, and monetization. From feature design to model development, experimentation, and iterative online improvements, we play a vital role in refining the recommendation pipeline to achieve tangible results.
