Position Overview:
We are on the lookout for an exceptionally skilled Director of Systems Engineering to spearhead the development of core electrical hardware, systems, and software for our next-generation products while providing valuable systems engineering leadership for existing products. In this vital role, you will act as the primary technical leader responsible for transforming complex user requirements into effective system architectures. You will manage and expand a diverse team comprising Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Software/Embedded Linux experts. Additionally, you will oversee the complete system integration, ensuring flawless interaction between hardware and software systems while guiding key external partners and development initiatives.
Your Responsibilities:
Engineering Leadership: Lead, mentor, and nurture the growth of the Electrical, Systems, and embedded software engineering teams.
Systems Engineering & Architecture: Take ownership of the system-level architecture for both core and next-generation products. Drive the generation and traceability of requirements across hardware and software disciplines, ensuring designs are reliable, scalable, and manufacturable.
Software Oversight: Direct the software development strategy for next-gen products, overseeing both the embedded stack and OS-SW teams, driving OS-level configurations, kernel optimizations, and managing external contractors for board support packages (BSPs).
Hardware Execution: Lead the Electrical Engineering team through the entire hardware lifecycle, from component selection and schematic capture to PCB layout, board bring-up, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
Cross-Functional Integration: Collaborate across various departments to ensure cohesive and integrated product development.
