The Position:
Be part of a dedicated team executing extensive pest control initiatives across New Zealand’s breathtaking and remote terrains. Utilizing trapping techniques and approved toxin methods, you will manage possums and other invasive species, thereby safeguarding our native wildlife and ecosystems. In exchange, you will acquire hands-on experience, pursue industry qualifications, and join a crew that values determination, trustworthiness, and tangible results.
This role involves rigorous, full-time outdoor work, perfect for individuals who are physically fit and thrive in a hardworking team environment.
Location:
Based in Pleasant Point, our team travels throughout the South Island, working in some of New Zealand's most remote and stunning areas. This position necessitates overnight stays during the workweek (Monday to Friday) and occasional 10-day trips. Accommodation and meals are provided, offering you the chance to explore magnificent locations while making a real difference in conservation efforts.

What We Are Looking For:
- Physically robust and confident in handling heavy loads across rugged landscapes
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, away from home during the week
- Dependable, optimistic, and enthusiastic about learning
- Strong communication skills with a focus on safety
- Able to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Possession of a Full or Restricted New Zealand driver’s license
- Eligibility to work full-time in New Zealand and ability to pass a criminal background check
Desirable Qualifications:
- Prior experience or certifications in animal pest control or biosecurity work
- First Aid Certification
- ATV, LUV, or 4WD credentials
- GrowSafe or Controlled Substance License
- New Zealand Firearms License
- Chainsaw operation NZQA unit standards or equivalent training
