Forensic Social Worker
Starting Salary Range: $63,011 - $75,613
GGRC is seeking a dedicated Forensic Social Worker to provide critical support and education to our social work team on all legal matters concerning clients. This role involves attending court appearances, conducting assessments, preparing court reports, and managing 6500 petitions, as well as any other documentation required by the legal system. The Forensic Social Worker will serve as a vital liaison to secured facilities, including the Porterville Developmental Center and Canyon Springs, as well as STAR Homes and Enhanced Behavioral Support Homes, offering enhanced case management services to clients requiring additional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Agency Resource:
- Act as a knowledgeable resource for the Agency in forensic matters.
- Understand the roles and structures within the court system, including the district attorney and public defender.
- Stay informed on new policies and laws impacting forensic practices.
- Maintain an accessible database of information for staff reference.
- Develop and conduct internal training sessions for social workers, and coordinate with external experts to enhance staff knowledge of the legal system.
- Educate staff on legal proceedings and court protocols.
- Design training materials for court officials to foster positive relationships between the legal system and regional centers.
- Manage documentation and deadlines for Enhanced Behavioral Support Homes and STAR Homes.
- Social Worker Support:
- Collaborate with social workers to resolve cases effectively.
- Assist social workers in court-related issues, taking the lead during court appearances as necessary.
- Client and Family Support:
- Guide clients and families through the court process, preparing them for what to expect.
- Oversee court assessments, keeping clients informed at every stage.
- Project Oversight and Documentation:
- Ensure timely management of court dates and paperwork.
- Organize all documentation linked to court cases and reports.
- Compose detailed, accurate reports.
- Handle miscellaneous paperwork as needed.
- Outreach:
- Build a network within the legal community to access critical information.
- Collaborate with attorneys for case insights and legal advice.
- Establish connections with judges and court officials to understand success factors.
- Educate the community and legal entities on the Regional Center’s mandates and services.
