Mindrift connects skilled professionals with project-based roles focused on advancing AI systems for leading technology companies. This freelance position centers on developing and validating computational chemistry problems using Python. The engagement is remote, based in Metro Manila, Philippines, and is not a permanent role.
What you will do
- Design computational chemistry problems that reflect real research workflows and practical applications.
- Develop problem sets that require Python solutions, using libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, and chemical toolkits.
- Create complex, computationally intensive challenges that cannot be solved manually within days or weeks.
- Formulate problems involving advanced reasoning in physical chemistry, quantum chemistry, and molecular modeling.
- Validate solutions using Python and standard computational chemistry techniques.
- Document each problem clearly and provide verified, accurate answers.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation; experience with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or similar languages is also considered.
- Minimum of 2 years in applied chemistry, research, or teaching.
- Experience with numerical methods in chemistry.
- Understanding of computational chemistry concepts and methodologies.
- Strong written English skills at C1 level or higher.
Project details
This is a part-time, project-based commitment. During active project phases, expect to contribute approximately 10–20 hours per week. Actual workload may vary and is not guaranteed.
Compensation
Contributors may earn up to $10 per hour, depending on expertise and task completion speed. Pay rates vary by project scope, complexity, and required skills.
