At Mindrift, we bridge the gap between talented professionals and innovative AI projects for top-tier technology companies. Our focus is on enhancing, testing, and evaluating cutting-edge AI systems. Note: Participation is project-based and does not constitute permanent employment.
Project Overview
As part of our collaborative team, you will engage in a variety of unique projects which may include:
- Designing original computational physics challenges that emulate authentic physics research workflows;
- Creating programming problems that necessitate Python solutions (utilizing libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, and Sympy);
- Ensuring problems are computationally demanding and cannot be resolved manually within reasonable timeframes;
- Developing intricate problems requiring advanced reasoning in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics;
- Grounding problems in genuine research obstacles or practical applications within the field of physics;
- Validating solutions with Python and established physics simulation libraries;
- Clearly documenting problem statements and providing verified correct answers.
Candidate Profile
This opportunity is ideal for optical engineers experienced in Python who are open to part-time, project-based engagements. The successful candidate will ideally possess:
- A degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational) or a related discipline;
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation. Familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or other domain-specific libraries is also considered valuable;
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience, including applied research or teaching;
- Experience in numerical simulation techniques;
- The ability to design problems that accurately reflect real-world physics research workflows;
- Creative problem-solving skills across various physics domains;
- Knowledge of physics modeling and approximation methods;
- Strong command of written English (C1 or higher).
Application Process
Steps: Apply → Pass qualifications → Join a project → Complete tasks → Receive compensation.
Project Commitment
Active project phases are estimated to require approximately 10–20 hours of work per week, based on project demands. This is an estimation, not a guaranteed workload.
Compensation Details
Contributors can earn up to $76 per hour, depending on their expertise and contribution pace. Please note that compensation varies across different projects in terms of scope, complexity, and required expertise.
