Key Responsibilities:Financial Management and ReportingConduct daily bank and credit card reconciliations. Post accruals and prepayments as part of the month-end routine. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for review. Maintain fixed asset registers, including the motor fleet. Manage monthly postings and reconciliations of intercompany transactions. Prepare monthly performance analyses against budget with variance analysis and commentary for management. Handle bi-monthly VAT returns for ROI and quarterly VAT returns for NI companies. Prepare monthly VIE’s and Intrastat returns. Assist in the group audit process. Skills and Experience:A degree (Level 8 NFQ) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Part-Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA or IATI qualification is essential.1-2 years of post-qualification experience is desirable. Strong experience in reporting and financial analysis. Proficiency in integrated accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with Microsoft ERP or similar systems will be an advantage. Exceptional numerical and analytical abilities.

Role overview

The Group Accounting Technician helps support the finance function for three Group entities. This role works in close partnership with the Group Senior Financial Accountant, particularly during the month-end process and period close. Regular duties include preparing and reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and working with both Accounts Payable and Receivable teams.

  • Support the month-end close and help ensure deadlines are met
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable and Receivable teams
  • Contribute financial insights to aid decision-making

Compensation and hours

  • Salary: €36,605 per year
  • 39-hour work week, Monday to Friday
