Are You Ready to Push the Boundaries of What’s Possible?We are looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering)Proficient technical reporting skills: ability to write clearly and concisely, summarizing technical concepts for clientsExperience in open channel hydraulic design, including subcritical and supercritical flow, as well as hydraulic jumpsKnowledge of hydraulic structure design, including weirs and flumesExperience with gravity and pressure pipe designProficient in developing hydraulic models and producing calculations for various treatment plant sizes and complexities independentlyStrong understanding of hydraulic modeling scenariosChartership or progress towards Chartership (CIWEM, ICE)Desirable but not mandatory:Experience with HADES modelingExperience with hydraulic modeling software

We are excited to invite applications for the role of Hydraulic Specialist within our expanding Water team. In this senior technical position, you will lead small teams to conduct essential hydraulic analyses for clean water and wastewater treatment facilities across the UK.

Your primary responsibility will be hydraulic modeling of treatment facilities, with additional opportunities to engage in a variety of treatment plant and civil design projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish HADES models for treatment plant infrastructure
  • Calibrate models using physical data
  • Investigate hydraulic modeling scenarios
  • Develop innovative hydraulic solutions
  • Deliver presentations of findings to clients
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams both within AECOM and externally to devise effective solutions
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports that clearly outline model assumptions, methodologies, results, and uncertainties
  • Assist in project delivery, including the creation of hydraulic profiles and collaborating with other disciplines to produce detailed design drawings
  • Engage proactively with clients
  • Utilize company project management systems to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery
