The goal: help teams work smarter, spark creativity, and reach their potential.
Design Engineer: Role Overview
Langdock blends design and engineering into a single discipline. As a Design Engineer, code is the source of truth, not just design files. This role involves close collaboration with product teams to understand challenges and deliver both visual and technical solutions. Expect to open branches, build pixel-perfect front-end interfaces, and either ship production-ready work independently or partner with product engineers to deliver features.
This position suits someone who enjoys both design and coding, and who cares deeply about quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead UI Development: Build new features and pages, turning complex problems into visually engaging and technically solid solutions that go live to users.
- Set Visual Standards: Apply a critical eye to spacing, typography, motion, and hierarchy. Challenge inconsistencies and uphold high standards across every interface.
- Code-First Workflow: Use Next.js and React as primary tools, implementing designs directly in the codebase with Tailwind. Figma is a starting point, but the final product is what users see and use.
- Rapid Prototyping: Build quick prototypes to help the team visualize ideas and guide decision-making.
- Full-Stack Skills: Confidently handle back-end tasks, whether writing Prisma queries or creating and modifying API routes, to ensure smooth integration with front-end work.
