Key ResponsibilitiesUphold a strong personal safety culture while adhering to all safety programs and regulatory requirements. Conduct electrical design for low, medium, and high voltage systems, encompassing power distribution, motor control, and generation systems. Implement mining and heavy industrial electrical design standards and best practices. Take the lead on electrical engineering scopes for assigned projects and coordinate with various disciplines. Develop and evaluate Scopes of Work (SOW) for electrical installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting. Perform power system studies, including load flow, short circuit analysis, and protection coordination. Create and update engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and equipment lists. Assist in procurement processes via technical bid evaluations and vendor/shop drawing reviews. Provide engineering support throughout construction, commissioning, and operational phases. Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors. RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation or eligibility.4–9 years of experience in mining, industrial, or heavy infrastructure environments. Experience in developing Scopes of Work (SOW) for electrical projects. Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes and standards.

Role Overview: Intermediate Electrical Technologist

This role manages electrical engineering tasks for both capital and sustaining capital projects in mining and heavy industry. The Intermediate Electrical Technologist will work independently, handling electrical system design, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and taking responsibility for engineered deliverables. Commitment to safety and sound engineering judgment is essential.

Work Schedule and Location

  • Rotational mine-site position: 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off
  • 11-hour workdays during rotation, with full camp accommodations provided
  • Remote mining location near Prince Albert, Saskatchewan
  • Travel to site via scheduled flights departing only from Saskatoon
  • Candidates must arrange their own travel to connect with these flights in Saskatoon
