The Construction Manager will oversee Field Construction Managers involved in the construction of electric substations, transmission lines, generation upgrades, and various other projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the performance of Field Construction Managers on projects involving electric substations, transmission lines, and generation upgrades.
- Assess contract resource needs and service specifications while managing contractor performance.
- Supervise field inspection coordination and ensure timely project sign-offs.
- Monitor outsourced construction activities to uphold safety, quality, schedules, and budgets.
- Review and evaluate project contracts and agreements, providing strategic recommendations.
- Work collaboratively with management to solve issues and coordinate with field construction teams.
- Ensure construction management processes are integrated into planning, scheduling, and installation phases.
- Oversee material procurement and handling plans for construction projects.
- Align construction schedules of transmission substations and lines with other company functions.
- Provide feedback regarding constructability on various construction standards.
- Research and implement necessary changes to comply with AVANGRID standards and business objectives.
- Collaborate across business units, contractors, and experts to resolve disputes and prioritize requirements.
- Engage in the ongoing budget process, managing construction budget items and personnel.
- Participate in negotiations and joint planning for transmission facilities construction with other utilities.
