What Do Mortgage Field Service Inspectors Do?
Mortgage companies and banks are legally required to assess the occupancy status and condition of properties tied to mortgaged loans. As a Property Inspector, you'll visit various properties to take specific photographs and determine whether they are occupied or vacant. You'll then report your findings using an intuitive mobile app.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess occupancy status of properties
- Evaluate property condition and rate it as Good, Fair, or Poor
- Capture high-quality photos using your smartphone
- Complete forms via a user-friendly downloadable app
- Respond to multiple-choice questions regarding property conditions
Qualifications:
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Reliable transportation with good fuel efficiency preferred
- Ownership of a smartphone (Android or iPhone)
- Access to a printer and scanner
- Proficiency with desktop/laptop or tablet for printing forms
Compensation and Workload:
Your income will depend on your area and the volume of inspections completed. Most inspectors can conduct multiple inspections per hour, and rural areas may offer higher pay per inspection. The more efficiently you complete inspections, the more opportunities will be available. This is a 1099 contractor position, with no resume required.
