Role Overview:
The Maintenance Technician will be a crucial player in ensuring the smooth operation of our Daddy Ray facility. This role requires direct involvement in major projects that involve complex mechanical repairs and adjustments to maintain equipment safety, efficiency, and productivity. You will perform preventative maintenance on essential equipment and promptly report any issues to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager or Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct repairs on machinery and building systems used in daily operations.
- Assist with the installation of new machinery and equipment.
- Fabricate necessary parts and equipment.
- Collaborate with vendors and engineering teams to identify and implement design improvements for enhanced equipment reliability.
- Report any broken, inoperable, or unsafe equipment to the appropriate supervisors and take immediate corrective actions as necessary.
- Advise the Maintenance Manager on potential equipment and facility issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.
- Provide guidance and support to fellow Maintenance Technicians during repair tasks.
- Assist supervisors with after-hours maintenance calls.
- Work independently on various projects assigned by the Manager/Supervisor.
Maintain ongoing training in areas including:
- OSHA regulated programs
- Food Defense, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) Procedures
- Lock Out / Tag Out protocols
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage
- Machine operations
- Reading and interpreting production specifications
- Understanding and documenting data on process documents
Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area, comply with company policies, safety regulations, and GMP, and foster strong interdepartmental communication to achieve operational goals.
