Strong customer service orientation and a proactive approach to managing workload and meeting deadlines. Keen attention to detail to ensure accurate appraisal reviews and minimize errors. Capability to research and analyze updates in government and lender guidelines. Problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions on underwriting and appraisal approvals. Proficient administrative and computer skills, with a willingness to learn new systems and processes.

Position Overview:

The MI Financial Appraisal Underwriting Department is seeking a dedicated Junior Appraisal Underwriter. In this role, you will evaluate and analyze residential appraisals submitted by third-party appraisers. Your responsibilities will include reviewing the Appraisal Report and the Collateral Analytics Report promptly, ensuring compliance with MI Financial guidelines and governmental standards. You will identify any discrepancies in the appraisals and collaborate with appraisers to rectify these issues. Additionally, you will keep internal stakeholders informed regarding appraisal approvals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough underwriting reviews using Government Underwriting Guidelines and Collateral Analytics to approve appraisals efficiently.
  • Complete the requisite M/I Financial and Government Agency Training Programs to achieve Conventional, FHA, and VA Appraisal Underwriting certifications.
