Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Management, Accounting, or Administration. At least 3 years of experience in a similar financial analysis role. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Demonstrated responsibility, confidentiality, leadership, and accountability. Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment. The ideal candidate will possess competencies such as critical thinking, creativity, teamwork, effective communication, analytical skills, problem-solving, and negotiation.

The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center, commonly referred to as CIMMYT®, is a non-profit organization dedicated to agricultural research and development, collaborating with partners across more than 100 countries to enhance food security and sustainability.

We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and self-driven Junior Financial Analyst to play a pivotal role in assessing the economic viability of our investment projects. This position will involve providing essential financial data to guide key decision-making processes regarding returns and associated risks.

The role is situated at CIMMYT’s vibrant campus in Texcoco, located just 45 km northeast of Mexico City, Mexico.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze data from the Country Mapping Template and Pipelines to generate Project Contract IDs (PCID) in our system.
  • Input and verify ICC information within our financial systems.
  • Maintain and update the Elaboration Database (EDB).
  • Review proposal budgets, ensuring compliance with CGIAR costing guidelines, institutional policies, and donor regulations.
  • Assist in the accurate and timely uploading of project budgets into the financial system based on information provided by PFM.
  • Support the Financial Analyst in responding promptly to inquiries from the PFMU Supervisor and Financial Analyst.
  • Help ensure the timely preparation of accurate Financial Reports for donors and internal stakeholders, adhering to CIMMYT standards and CGIAR policies.
  • Provide assistance during donor-specific and internal audits as required.
