Join Spark Power as a Junior Operator in Our Renewable Energy Operations Center!

The ROC Junior Operator is a vital entry-level position within the Renewables Operation Center (ROC) team located in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Our ROC team plays a crucial role in remotely monitoring and managing Solar PV power generation and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across North America. We oversee field operations and maintenance for over 1200 generation facilities under our O&M services contracts.

Our monitored assets include everything from commercial rooftop systems to large-scale utility installations directly connected to distribution and transmission networks.

Please note that due to strict protocols from asset owners and regulatory bodies, a criminal background check will be required prior to any employment offer from Spark Power.

As a Junior Operator, you will work with a dedicated team that operates on a 24/7 schedule, meaning night shifts will be part of your rotation.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Continuous 24/7 monitoring of electrical energy production and storage assets.
  • Responding to inquiries from balancing authorities or grid operators.
  • Minimizing downtime of generation equipment, diagnosing plant underperformance, and troubleshooting telemetry/SCADA issues.
  • Collaborating with field technical teams to remotely troubleshoot and control equipment during maintenance activities.
  • Acting swiftly in response to operational requests and emergencies, adhering to mandated timelines.
  • Monitoring and quickly addressing issues affecting the power production of assigned assets.
  • Triage and escalate production issues, initiating dispatch tickets in coordination with dispatchers, asset managers, and the ROC team.
  • Coordinating planned maintenance outages with relevant stakeholders.
  • Supporting technical field staff during maintenance and inspections, including equipment status checks and safe remote operations.
