Qualifications

Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a PhD with at least 2 years of experience in a scientific discipline such as applied mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, computer science, or data science. Proven experience in designing and executing experiments to validate and compare algorithm performance against actual data and/or simulations, utilizing standard analytical tools (e.g., Python). Expertise in constructing neural networks using popular frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow), including the development of new layers/network architectures, model training, hyperparameter optimization, and conducting ablation studies. Familiarity with essential data science tools such as scikit-learn, Pandas, and Matplotlib. Proficient in at least one programming language, preferably Python or C/C++. Able to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and lead initiatives. Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The Signals Exploitation and Tracking (SET) Group within the Analytics Division specializes in harnessing machine learning, statistical analysis, estimation, and information theory algorithms for tasks such as signals exploitation, target tracking, and efficient system resource management.

Your Role

As a Lead Research Scientist at STR, you will spearhead the development of revolutionary technologies focusing on signals exploitation, estimation theory, and systems analysis. You will be at the forefront of creating state-of-the-art AI/ML algorithms for novel applications and modalities. In this role, you will lead project teams, engage with clients, and delve into intriguing datasets to craft advanced algorithmic solutions, tackling high-impact challenges that matter to our clients. This position is primarily based in our Woburn, MA office, and we are seeking a collaborative individual to join us onsite.
