Position Overview:
As the Lead Software Developer, you will report directly to the Head of Technology & Data and take charge of our development team. Your mission will be to deliver exceptional software solutions while managing critical third-party integrations and providing ongoing support for both in-house and external applications. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and delivery acumen to drive innovation and ensure the timely rollout of next-generation scalable fleet management products.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a team of software engineers, cultivating a collaborative culture that encourages ownership, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the development and support of essential business applications, including both in-house and third-party solutions.
- Establish and track departmental KPIs and define SLAs focused on quality, availability, and performance.
- Manage relationships with application partners to ensure strategic alignment and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Document comprehensive requirements for new and modified functionalities in collaboration with internal and external teams.
- Guide the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) from planning and design to deployment and maintenance, ensuring timely and on-scope delivery aligned with business objectives.
- Employ Agile methodologies to prioritize tasks and maximize customer value.
- Enhance development processes, tools, and best practices.
- Identify and mitigate risks while adhering to secure software development and cloud deployment standards.
- Design and implement a continuous integration/deployment strategy.
- Explore and apply automated testing opportunities as part of deployment pipelines.
- Evaluate team performance through code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends to inform strategic decisions.
- Manage resource allocation, recruit talent, and drive the professional development of team members.
