Qualifications

Core Responsibilities and DutiesAssemble, install, repair, and maintain lifts (passenger, goods, stair lifts) and escalators utilizing hand and power tools, as well as testing devices such as test lamps, ammeters, and voltmeters. Connect electrical wiring to control panels and electric motors effectively. Adjust safety controls, counterweights, door mechanisms, and components including valves, ratchets, seals, and brake linings. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes, completing service reports that verify the condition of lifts and adherence to standards. Diagnose malfunctions in brakes, motors, switches, and control systems using appropriate test equipment. Be available for planned overtime and after-hours standby duties as required. Qualifications and ExperienceCompleted Grade 12Trade Tested as a Lift Technician / Lift MechanicUniversity qualification preferredAdditional qualifications in Electrical Engineering would be advantageous.
