Tayco is on the lookout for a dynamic and driven leader to take charge of our exceptional Logistics team at our Production Facility in Etobicoke. The Logistics Manager will provide strategic oversight and leadership for the Logistics department, aligning with our business objectives. Key responsibilities include developing procedures aimed at enhancing productivity, ensuring quality, and resolving production challenges. This position is crucial in managing and directing the Logistics team to drive revenue growth, technical efficiency, and high customer satisfaction while nurturing relationships and integrating strategic plans with overall company operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement daily work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to achieve daily production and customer shipping goals.
  • Supervise daily operations of the logistics team across shifts to ensure collective achievement of customer shipping expectations.
  • Ensure logistics schedule objectives are met while maintaining quality standards effectively and timely, in compliance with Health and Safety, Collective Agreement, Quality, ISO 9001-2015, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement standards, and Tayco policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations and NAFTA Agreement (US MCA).
  • Oversee onboarding of new freight partners and negotiate contracts and programs with both existing and new partners.
  • Prepare timely production reports.
  • Achieve departmental inventory reduction and accuracy targets.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of lift trucks and all tools, and follow up on repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintain and manage shipping supplies and labels.
  • Optimize the utilization of storage space and product shipments.
  • Adhere to all relevant Business Operating Procedures.
  • Continuously investigate and implement new methodologies to enhance product and service quality and speed to market.
  • Instruct staff in safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment, maintain proper housekeeping, and identify unsafe work conditions.
  • Enforce company and safety regulations, document violations, and recommend necessary disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct safety talks, staff meetings, and departmental briefings.
