Job Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Manufacturing Engineering Technician to assist in the development, implementation, and enhancement of manufacturing processes for our autonomous surface vessels (ASVs). This position will collaborate closely with engineers, production teams, and suppliers to ensure efficient, high-quality production for the Department of Defense (DoD). The technician will be involved in process execution, troubleshooting, and providing hands-on support to maintain seamless production.
Responsibilities:
Process Support: Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes for ASV production. Collaborate with engineers to implement lean manufacturing strategies aimed at waste reduction and enhanced workflow efficiency. Provide meaningful feedback on tooling, fixtures, and equipment performance to facilitate process improvements.
Collaboration: Partner with design and engineering teams to translate specifications into effective manufacturing practices. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to procure parts, materials, and consumables needed for production.
Quality Assurance: Investigate, document, and escalate production issues; assist engineers with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement: Propose and assist in implementing enhancements to maximize efficiency, safety, and product quality. Conduct time studies and stay updated with best practices in manufacturing techniques and equipment operation.
Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate records of production processes, test results, and quality checks. Ensure adherence to company procedures and relevant industry standards.
Training and Support: Provide practical training to production staff on proper equipment usage and processes. Act as the first line of troubleshooting during production issues and escalate when required.
Qualifications:
An Associate degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field; equivalent technical training or experience will be considered.
Previous experience as a manufacturing technician or in a comparable role within a complex electromechanical manufacturing environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and process improvement.
