Job Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and organized Material Handler to become a vital part of our innovative team. In this role, you will be instrumental in facilitating the seamless flow of materials and components essential for the production of autonomous surface vessels for the Department of Defense. Your collaboration with various departments will be key in managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials while ensuring precise inventory records are maintained.
Responsibilities
Receive incoming shipments of materials and components, verifying them against purchase orders and packing slips for accuracy.
Organize and store materials in designated areas while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and proper handling practices.
Maintain accurate inventory records using electronic inventory management systems to track materials.
Prepare and package materials for outgoing shipments, ensuring all documentation and labeling are correct.
Work closely with procurement and production teams to fulfill material requisition requests promptly.
Monitor inventory levels, anticipate shortages or surpluses, and communicate adjustments to relevant stakeholders.
Conduct regular inventory audits to resolve discrepancies and ensure inventory accuracy.
Assist in implementing lean manufacturing principles to enhance material flow and reduce waste.
Collaborate with logistics partners to manage the transportation of materials between suppliers, subcontractors, and production facilities.
Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is advantageous.
Demonstrated experience as a material handler or in a related role within a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
Proficient with inventory management systems and software; experience with ERP systems is preferred.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
Ability to operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
