About You and the Role
Are you excited about tackling a transformative challenge, managing the material availability and planning framework for the rapid expansion of a pioneering autonomous robotic aircraft system? Can you navigate intricate and competing signals from engineering modifications, production increases, supplier limitations, and demand fluctuations to create precise, actionable strategies that keep manufacturing on track? If leading the material strategy for an entire aircraft platform or major subsystem in a high-stakes, mission-critical role energizes you, we want to hear from you! This position is based at our headquarters in South San Francisco and requires 30-50% travel to oversee essential suppliers, partners, and operations across Asia, North America, and other strategic regions.
Your Responsibilities
In this prominent leadership position, you will be responsible for the holistic material planning and data integrity for either a full aircraft platform or a significant subsystem. Your goal is to ensure seamless alignment between design intentions, production necessities, supplier commitments, and operational execution. You will act as the primary authority for material-related data and processes, collaborating closely with Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Industrialization, New Product Introduction (NPI), Manufacturing Operations, and Integrated Planning teams to reliably and rapidly expand Zipline’s manufacturing footprint.
