Mindrift connects skilled professionals with project-based roles supporting AI development for leading technology companies. This Mathematics and Python Specialist position focuses on creating and validating challenging computational mathematics problems to help test and improve AI systems. All work is remote and project-based, not permanent employment.
What you will do
- Develop original computational mathematics problems modeled on authentic research workflows.
- Create tasks that require Python programming to solve, using libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, and Sympy.
- Design challenges that are too complex for manual solution within a reasonable timeframe.
- Formulate problems in areas like number theory, combinatorics, graph theory, and numerical analysis.
- Base problems on real research challenges or practical mathematical scenarios.
- Verify solutions using Python and standard mathematical libraries.
- Document problem statements clearly and provide validated answers.
Requirements
- Degree in Mathematics (Pure or Applied) or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation. Knowledge of MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or similar libraries is also considered.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in applied mathematics, research, or teaching.
- Experience with numerical methods and symbolic computation.
- Ability to design problems reflecting real-world mathematical research.
- Understanding of computational complexity theory.
- Strong written English skills (C1+ level).
Project details
- Project-based commitment; not a permanent role.
- Estimated 10–20 hours per week during active project phases. Actual workload may vary.
Compensation
- Earn up to $35 per hour, depending on expertise and contribution speed.
- Rates may vary by project based on complexity and required skills.
