We are excited to announce a remarkable opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our innovative New Product Development team in Gloucester. This role allows you to be part of an expanding group dedicated to advancing fluid technology and pump systems.

The Role:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing groundbreaking products while also enhancing our existing range. This position offers an engaging environment where you can creatively solve problems, independently innovate, and collaborate closely with a supportive team. You will be involved in projects from conception to completion, utilizing state-of-the-art design software and tools, including Solidworks Premium, Autodesk AutoCAD & Revit, as well as our in-house 3D printing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop new product ideas while collaborating to refine and improve existing designs.
  • Create and modify 3D models using Solidworks within a PDM environment.
  • Produce detailed 2D drawings, BOMs, and ensure comprehensive engineering documentation.
  • Conduct FEA and generate reports to guarantee product safety and compliance with industry standards.
  • Assist marketing initiatives through product renders and animations.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an engineering design environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in 3D design software, particularly Solidworks.
  • A strong passion for industrial product design and innovation.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to meet challenging project deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with a readiness to work independently when necessary.

Desirable Skills:

  • A background in electrical engineering along with knowledge of fluid technology, pumping systems, or pipework design would be advantageous.
  • Prior experience in Research & Development or New Product Development is a plus.
