We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer with extensive experience in HVAC and mechanical systems specifically for residential units. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design review, material installation, site supervision, and quality inspections of mechanical components in major building rectification and upgrade programs. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the design, execution, testing, and commissioning of intricate mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will ensure strict compliance with design criteria, codes, and industry standards throughout the entire project life cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct design reviews of packages, offering valuable constructability insights to the Design & Engineering team or consultants.
- Oversee and coordinate shop drawings and as-built documentation across various trades and disciplines.
- Supervise and inspect mechanical work, providing daily monitoring of project progress within the established scope.
- Execute QA/QC inspections to identify nonconforming work and generate periodic reports to track quality metrics.
- Address contractor requests for inspections, technical inquiries, and site clarifications, collaborating with the project management team to issue necessary field directives.
- Confirm quantities and progress of work to ensure accuracy in completed work calculations.
- Resolve mechanical design issues that arise during construction, collaborating closely with all stakeholders, including contractors, to maintain alignment with project objectives.
- Support technical decision-making regarding mechanical systems, utilizing expertise to tackle design or installation challenges.
- Assist in the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems as required.
- Provide technical knowledge and guidance on the operation of mechanical distribution systems.
- Lead the commissioning, startup, and adjustments of mechanical systems and components to ensure optimal functionality.
