Preferred Qualifications:Possess a valid Tennessee teaching license or a clear path to certification (Highly Preferred). Demonstrate a commitment to serving students from educationally under-resourced communities. Bachelor’s degree (Required). Successfully pass a Criminal Background Check. Previous experience and proven success in teaching students from educationally under-resourced communities (Highly Preferred). About the job

As a Middle School Support Teacher at KIPP Nashville, your primary responsibilities will include:

Flexible Student Support:

  • Adaptively engage with students across the school as needed, under the direction of the Principal.

  • This role may include covering classrooms for absent teachers, conducting small group interventions, assisting during staff transitions, observing classrooms, and supporting logistical school-wide procedures like lunch, arrival, and dismissal.

Curriculum Development and Instruction:

  • Design and implement effective instructional strategies, activities, and materials that cater to the diverse learning styles and needs of individual students.

Commitment to School Culture:

  • Collaborate with your school team and fellow educators across KIPP Nashville to foster a supportive and inclusive school culture.

  • Contribute to the development of a positive school environment that addresses the needs of students, teachers, and families.

  • Participate actively in staff meetings and maintain open communication with colleagues.

  • Build strong relationships with students.

  • Create and maintain a calm and positive learning atmosphere.

  • Uphold and model the school’s values and student management policies.

Family Engagement:

  • Establish and sustain effective communication with families as necessary.

  • Be present at open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and other family-involved events.

  • Make yourself accessible to students, parents, and colleagues.
