About the job

Join General Medicine as a Mobile Engineer!

At General Medicine, we are on a mission to revolutionize healthcare access. As a Mobile Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and scaling our innovative healthcare store, simplifying the process of obtaining care. Our platform provides upfront pricing for virtual and in-person visits, prescriptions, labs, imaging, and more, making healthcare more transparent and accessible.

Your Role:

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Engineer to spearhead the creation of our inaugural native mobile application using React Native. This is a foundational position where you will take the lead in building the app from the ground up, making essential architectural decisions, and establishing frameworks that the rest of our team will utilize.

Ideal Candidate:

Our ideal candidate has a proven track record of shipping and maintaining React Native applications in a production environment. You should have a strong grasp of the distinctions between React Native and native iOS/Android development. Proficiency in Swift or Kotlin is essential for tasks such as HealthKit integrations, push notifications, or video calling SDKs. While your primary focus will be on TypeScript and React, you should also be open to contributing to our Next.js web frontend, as we view mobile and web as a unified experience.

We value technical excellence and are looking for someone who can navigate the balance between speed and quality. Our engineers are proactive, versatile, and often engage in writing product requirements, analyzing SQL data for feature performance, and taking ownership of quality assurance. No task is too small if it contributes to delivering an exceptional product. If you thrive in ambiguous environments and are eager to collaborate closely with design, operations, and clinical teams, we want to hear from you!

You don't need a healthcare background, but enthusiasm for tackling the complexities of the American healthcare system, including EHR integration and revenue cycle management, is a plus.

About General Medicine
