Join us in building a better tomorrow!Discover more about us at www.ymcaeastbay.org.POSITION SUMMARYThe Human Resources Director plays a vital role in aligning with the Mission, Goals, and Values of the YMCA of the East Bay by steering key HR functions. This position partners with leadership across the Association, ensuring the implementation of consistent practices aligned with our mission in areas like employee relations, payroll, compensation, compliance, training and development, performance management, talent acquisition, and HR systems oversight.The Director will oversee the daily operations of the HR department, may supervise HR Generalists, Payroll Managers, and other HR personnel, and will ensure the effective execution of HR programs while contributing to the long-term strategic goals set forth by the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSKey Responsibilities include:People & Culture LeadershipAct as a trusted advisor to Association leaders regarding employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and workplace issues.Conduct prompt, impartial, and well-documented employee relations investigations.Support culture initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement, inclusion, and workforce development across the Association.HR Operations & SystemsOversee HRIS and Payroll Systems, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and optimization from a functional HR perspective.Manage compliance programs in accordance with federal, state, and local labor laws.Supervise unemployment, workers' compensation, and leave administration processes.Develop, revise, and maintain HR policies, procedures, handbooks, and documentation.Stay informed on employment laws and collaborate with the CHRO to uphold an effective compliance program, ensuring timely submissions of data required by EEOC, YMCA of the USA, Department of Labor, etc.Talent Acquisition & DevelopmentCollaborate with Operations leadership to identify staffing needs and implement effective recruitment strategies.Advocate for employee professional development through training programs and performance management systems.
