With teams situated in Cheltenham, Manchester, and London, we are on a mission to enhance our platform capabilities and are eager to welcome Platform Engineers to our growing team.About the RoleAs a Platform Engineer at Hamiltonian Dynamics, you will be instrumental in the design, construction, and operation of the platforms and infrastructure that support our secure software systems. Collaborating with software engineers, architects, and various stakeholders, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring reliable delivery, scalability, and operational excellence.We value diverse backgrounds and experiences; strong engineering principles, curiosity, and a commitment to learning are more important than meeting every requirement.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain secure, repeatable infrastructure through automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)Manage and optimize containerized platforms and cloud environmentsFacilitate CI/CD pipelines and enhance developer workflowsElevate observability, reliability, and operational resilienceWork collaboratively across teams to advance platform standards and toolingPreferred Skills & ExperienceExperience in one or more of the following areas, with a willingness to explore new tools:Infrastructure as Code and automation (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)Containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS and/or Azure)Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools and modern delivery practicesLogging, monitoring, and tracing (e.g., Elastic Stack, Grafana, Jaeger)Familiarity with CNCF tools and cloud-native best practicesSecurity & Location RequirementsUK citizen with a minimum of 10 years residency in the UKMust hold a high-level UK security clearanceWillingness to travel to client sites in Gloucestershire, Manchester, or LondonBenefitsSalary range: £40,000-75,000, depending on experience (consideration for junior or senior candidates outside this range for the right fit)10% Clearance Bonus25 days of annual leave plus bank holidaysOpportunity to buy or sell up to 5 days leave per year8% employer pension contributionBUPA health coverageLife insurance of 4× salaryElectric vehicle car scheme via salary sacrificeEMI share schemeFlexible working arrangements and flexi-time10 days per year training allowanceEach employee benefits from an individual training and career development plan, recognizing that everyone learns differently, and we actively support your growth.
