You are expected to be a technical authority in one or more domains, including distributed systems, online security, and machine learning.Your key responsibilities will include building and leading capable teams, ensuring engineers are productive, and delivering solutions that meet customer requirements while adhering to high standards of code quality, security, and service availability.Key Responsibilities:Recruit, motivate, and manage highly skilled engineering teams dedicated to scaling online security and machine learning products.Act as an intermediary among product, engineering, customer, and sales teams to effectively translate complex business needs and technological solutions into functional products.Uphold high software quality and assurance standards while ensuring development speed, as availability is crucial to our success.Define, implement, and oversee automation and instrumentation strategies to enhance observability and facilitate automated troubleshooting.Collaborate with sales and product teams to develop go-to-market strategies for new offerings, supervise architectural design, enhance client acquisition capabilities, and optimize delivery processes.Establish effective hiring and onboarding practices.Qualifications:A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience leading engineering teams of 20-60 members, with a solid foundation in security products and machine learning.Knowledge of high-availability and high-security development methodologies, proficient in Python, NodeJS, and Go or Rust.Proven success in DevOps and systems integration, employing agile development practices, meeting stringent SLAs, and utilizing test-driven design in large-scale internet-facing systems.Understanding of distributed systems design on orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, including concepts like queue-first architectures and sharding.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Proven expertise in architecture and business/product need alignment, including requirement gathering, problem-solving, and devising optimal solutions based on needs, timelines, and resources.
