Founded by renowned scientists specializing in robot reinforcement learning (with backgrounds from Nvidia and ETH Zürich), and supported by prominent global venture capital firms, we've rapidly transitioned from our initial coding phase to real-world humanoid functionalities within a matter of months.The RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Systems Administrator (IT/Security), employed 60% to 100%, to take full ownership of our internal IT operations and security measures as we expand our Zürich office. As our first dedicated hire in this area, you will be responsible for managing our Linux systems, ensuring a reliable office network infrastructure, enhancing IT security, and optimizing identity/access management across our core SaaS tools.This is an exceptional opportunity to delve into and elevate the IT infrastructure that underpins the creation of cutting-edge humanoid robots and AI technologies. You will engage with Flexion’s robots, GPU workstations, servers, cloud infrastructure, modern networking gear, and testing environments for our robotic systems.Your role will blend hands-on systems administration with strategic security leadership. You will establish policies and processes, implement essential controls, and collaborate with our engineering team to maintain the security of our internal and cloud environments without impeding our company’s agility.Joining our seasoned infrastructure team, which includes senior software engineers with experience from companies like Google, Meta, and Amazon, you will contribute to enhancing the foundational IT systems already in place.Key ResponsibilitiesTake full ownership of IT: establish and manage a dependable internal IT framework for a growing team (approximately 40 members), with clear onboarding/offboarding processes, access protocols, and support systems. You will collaborate with software engineers for implementation as necessary.Secure our Linux systems: standardize and manage Linux laptops, GPU workstations, and servers (including provisioning, patching, hardening, posture management, and inventory).Oversee identity & SaaS access: administer Google Workspace and essential tools (e.g., GitHub, Tailscale, cloud/AI vendors), enforcing principles of least privilege and maintaining an organized lifecycle management.Manage the office network: enhance and maintain our UniFi-based network (Wi-Fi, segmentation, firewalling, guest access) to ensure high uptime, robust security, and dependable connectivity to our robots.Drive security enhancements: formulate practical security policies and implement high-impact controls to safeguard company intellectual property.Establish AWS security baseline: manage foundational AWS security (organization/IAM hygiene, VPC/security groups, EC2 lifecycle guardrails) in collaboration with our engineering team.Requirements3+ years of experience in systems administration, particularly within IT and security domains.Proficiency in managing Linux environments and familiarity with cloud services, particularly AWS.Experience with network management and security best practices.Strong understanding of identity and access management, especially in SaaS environments.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
