Your Role as a Part-Time Instructor Will Include:
- Delivering an Engaging Curriculum: Utilize our specially designed curriculum and materials tailored for advanced students to facilitate small group math classes.
- Student Engagement: Foster active participation from students through interactive and student-led learning experiences.
- Classroom Management: Skillfully oversee a class size of up to 16 students.
- Assessment and Feedback: Evaluate student performance on tests and provide constructive feedback.
- Building Relationships: Establish meaningful connections with students and their families to positively influence their educational paths.
- Inspiring a Love for Learning: Cultivate an appreciation for mathematics and critical thinking in your students.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related or educational field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts.
- Experience in teaching or tutoring students is essential.
- Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is highly desirable.
Note:
- A formal teaching credential is not required for this position.
Schedule Requirements:
- This is an on-site afterschool program with classes held in the evenings and on weekends. Applicants must be available to teach during weekday after-school hours (starting as early as 4 PM) and/or on weekends.
- This role necessitates a minimum commitment of approximately 3 hours per week for each assigned class.
- Each course is scheduled to meet once a week for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Campus Location:
- This position is in-person at our Gaithersburg campus.
- Candidates must reside in Gaithersburg, MD or the surrounding area and be able to commute to our campus.
Compensation:
- $34 per hour
