The Role:

The Sustainability Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring our facility adheres to sustainable practices. This individual will monitor compliance, report findings, and provide insights necessary to achieve our sustainability goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct facility inspections to confirm adherence to sustainable procedures.
  • Classify, weigh, and manage Food Waste (including donations, composting, and disposal).
  • Prepare Food Waste for donations or internal re-use.
  • Perform daily facility walkthroughs (including kitchens and green stations) and complete daily audit forms to identify any issues.
  • Assist in conducting monthly sustainability audits and participate in review meetings with the sustainability team to implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate donation pickups with partnered non-profit organizations.
  • Ensure proper disposal of compostable materials.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to staff to foster sustainable practices.
  • Act as a Green Leader, promoting our “Go Green” initiative.
  • Ensure correct waste disposal in all kitchen areas.
  • Guarantee that all supply materials for waste diversion (stickers, posters, bins) are available and utilized.
