The Opportunity
As a People Consultant, you will serve as a vital partner to leaders and managers, providing coaching on intricate employee relations issues and everyday people practices. Your contributions will be instrumental in supporting EDF’s commitment to An Electric Britain, ensuring positive, consistent, and human-centric experiences throughout the organization.
Reporting to our Senior People Partner and collaborating with two People Partners, you will also work closely with other People Consultants, centers of excellence, and shared services to achieve cohesive and uniform outcomes.
This role involves working with our Business and Wholesale teams (approximately 900 employees onshore) within our Customers division, which operates at the crossroads of energy markets, assets, and clients. More than just a supplier, our Business & Wholesale teams are integrated partners who assist organizations in navigating the entire energy landscape with resilient, optimized, and forward-thinking solutions. In this dynamic and complex environment, having the right people, skills, and practices is essential. You will proactively manage a diverse and often intricate employee relations caseload, advising and influencing stakeholders across various levels of seniority.
You will gain in-depth knowledge of the areas you support, collaborate closely with colleagues across the People function, and help foster a culture where leaders feel empowered, supported, and accountable for their people decisions as we pursue An Electric Britain.
Who You Are
We are seeking an experienced People Consultant who possesses excellent judgment, empathy, and commercial insight. You should feel confident in coaching and influencing leaders at all levels, from Directors to Team Managers, while promoting fair and pragmatic outcomes. Your ability to apply policies and collective agreements with a people-first mindset is crucial.
To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate:
- Extensive experience in Employee Relations, Generalist or HR Advisor roles, managing a diverse ER caseload with varying levels of complexity, including formal processes.
- Exceptional coaching skills and the confidence to advise senior stakeholders creatively within company policies and collective agreements.
- A proven track record of embedding a people-focused approach when advising leaders on people decisions.
- Ability to influence and constructively challenge leaders to achieve outcomes that balance both people and business needs.
- Experience in building trusted relationships and establishing credibility within a supported business area.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of how people decisions impact broader organizational goals.
