Key Responsibilities:
Model Development:
- Create operational models utilizing the Network Model Management System (NMMS).
- Collaborate with members of the Network Data Support Working Group (NDSWG) to facilitate operational model data exchange and maintain the transmission network model within NMMS.
- Analyze and validate generator and transmission equipment data submitted by resource entities, collaborating with them to rectify any inaccuracies in model data.
Modeling Application Support:
- Oversee the software infrastructure for transmission system models and develop tools designed to aid in managing these models, including database infrastructure, data exchange interfaces, and export formats.
- Design and sustain modeling software tools utilizing C# and Java to validate transmission network data submissions through electrical engineering principles, performing data comparisons and validity assessments.
- Establish rules for validating data submissions in operational and planning models through SQL.
- Lead projects aimed at upgrading the NMMS and MOD applications to incorporate required new functionalities, review system patches, and assist in server administration.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide training and mentorship to participants in the Engineering Development Program (EDP).
- Engage closely with departments including Network Model Maintenance, Resource Integration, System Operations, Planning, Forward Markets, Client Services, and Grid Applications Development.
- Draft, review, and present updates to Protocols, Guides, procedures, training materials for EDP, Market Participants (MPs), and other relevant documentation related to modeling.
- Assess modifications to NERC standards to determine if adjustments to modeling methodologies are necessary.
