Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage departmental functions in a specialized division, ensuring timely scheduling, resource allocation, and opportunity identification while keeping the Preconstruction VP and Leadership Team informed of market constraints and opportunities. Once approved, the Preconstruction Manager is responsible for developing the Playbook, defining roles and responsibilities, project staffing, and monitoring project takeoff to ensure successful completion, including performing takeoffs when team bandwidth permits.
  • Collaborate with the Company Management team to identify strategies, techniques, and project opportunities for pursuit.
  • Thoroughly review all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness before bid proposal submissions.
  • Engage in and/or lead presentations to Company management and clients, both individually and in groups.
  • Provide technical support in contract negotiations, change orders, and scope details.
  • Assist in creating training modules, studies, materials, recommendations, and cost estimates for attendees of the PE Rotational Program.
  • Participate in pre-bid job site inspections and job walks.
  • Attend project-related pre and post-bid meetings.
  • Engage in job progress and closeout meetings.
  • Track awarded and non-awarded contract information for historical analysis by market sector and client.
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain strong working relationships with clients, design professionals, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Drive the development of top-tier preconstruction management services for both internal and external clients.
  • Keep the Preconstruction VP and Operations Team updated on all open or unresolved design issues, tracking design and cost changes during project development.
  • Guide project managers during the design and construction phases to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements negotiated during preconstruction.
