Why Your Role Matters at Arcadia

Arcadia is dedicated to enhancing healthcare outcomes through advanced data utilization and intelligent technology. A pivotal component of this mission is our User Management system, which oversees authentication, authorization, and user provisioning across all applications.

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to spearhead the technical ownership of this critical area, driving the rearchitecture and implementation of a robust, scalable, and secure access control framework. By the time you join, our team will have established key architectural decisions; your role will be to bring that vision to life.

This role is primarily focused on backend development within a full-stack capacity (approximately 60% backend, 40% frontend), necessitating extensive expertise in distributed systems and the ability to harmonize implementation with architectural strategy.

Defining Success
Within 3 months, you will:
- Acquaint yourself with the existing User Management system, including authentication methods (Auth0, SAML 2.0), authorization models, and event-driven user provisioning workflows.
- Finalize the design handoff for the new access and grants architecture, working closely with product and platform teams to align on business and security requirements.
- Initiate the staged implementation of the new system, emphasizing core backend services and foundational APIs.
