VVB Engineering is a leading provider of mechanical and electrical installation services throughout the UK, catering to various sectors including Rail and Airports. We are excited to announce an opening for a Project Cost Controller within our dynamic Commercial Finance department.
In this role, you will report directly to the Commercial Financial Controller and collaborate closely with the Project team to oversee and enhance the financial performance of our projects. Your expertise will be vital in generating insightful reports, as well as producing precise forecasting and cash flow analyses to aid management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
·Collaborate with Project teams to ensure clarity on project specifications and contractual obligations.
·Ensure compliance with all necessary procedures and interfaces, providing the client with comprehensive calculations and documentation.
·Efficiently manage your workload to meet critical business and finance deadlines.
·Monitor and challenge procurement and subcontractor expenses, investigating any discrepancies between forecasted and actual costs.
·Engage with Clients and Project Managers to address overdue applications, certifications, and payments.
·Coordinate with the Finance department to provide data supporting journal entries, capturing late costs, provisions, and revenue recognition.
·Maintain clear communication with Project teams to ensure accurate reporting of the operational and financial status of projects.
·Collect and compile financial reports related to projects, along with monthly and weekly cash-flow forecasts for presentation to the Finance and Management teams.
Our Ideal Candidate:
·Qualified CIMA/ACCA or equivalent
·GCSE educated, achieving A-C grades in English and Maths
·Three to five years of relevant finance experience
·Proven track record in a similar role
·Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
·Strong understanding of financial processes, including forecasting and cash flow management
·Ability to work comfortably in a site-based environment
·Self-driven with exceptional time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
·Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with all levels of the organization and non-financial personnel
