Job Responsibilities:
As a Project Manager, you will spearhead the planning, design, construction, and commissioning phases of significant capital projects in the electric utility sector. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects align with quality, budget, and schedule goals under general direction. Acting as an owner's representative, you will advocate for the client’s interests, provide insightful advice, and make informed decisions. This role demands exceptional leadership, technical acumen, and the capability to manage multi-functional and multi-location project teams using established project management methodologies.
Key Daily Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans that define activities, resources, milestones, and baselines.
• Prepare business cases, oversee budgets and contingencies, and maintain project governance documentation.
• Track and analyze cost and schedule performance, reporting key variances.
• Create and manage Excel reports and dashboards to track project progress.
• Lead meetings related to project scoping, constructability assessments, design reviews, bidding, construction, inspections, commissioning, and project closeout reviews.
• Negotiate and finalize contracts, oversee change orders, and ensure accurate reporting of project costs.
• Facilitate communication, delegate responsibilities, and ensure accountability within project teams.
• Conduct on-site reviews of designs and drawings to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues.
• Collaborate with governmental agencies to secure necessary permits and approvals.
• Engage with clients regarding land rights and property coordination.
• Prepare and deliver project updates, risk assessments, and lessons learned presentations to stakeholders.
• Identify, monitor, and resolve risks, issues, and opportunities to uphold project schedule and budget performance.
