This leadership role at hugobank centers on guiding the Project Management Office (PMO) and shaping project governance across the enterprise. Based in Karachi, the position is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of complex, multi-vendor, and cross-functional initiatives that support strategic business objectives and meet regulatory requirements within the banking sector.
What you will do
- Lead the delivery of major programs that span technology, compliance, risk, and business transformation, working with both internal teams and external partners.
- Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, including stage gates, steering committees, escalation processes, and decision-making protocols.
- Apply and tailor PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, and hybrid methodologies to suit the complexity and regulatory needs of each project.
- Chair Steering Committees, coordinate executive decision-making, and provide visibility into program health and risk management.
- Develop and implement reporting frameworks that deliver clear updates on project status, risks, dependencies, and financials to senior leadership.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders (Technology, Product, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Finance) and external vendors or implementation partners.
- Oversee vendor performance, ensuring compliance with service level agreements and contractual obligations.
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate risks and issues across the project portfolio to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Standardize project management tools, templates, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms using platforms such as Jira, MS Project, or similar tools.
- Ensure all initiatives align with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, compliance, and operational resilience standards.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of PMO frameworks, including PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, and hybrid approaches.
- Proven experience leading large-scale banking transformation projects in regulated environments.
