Morpho is building an open lending network in the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) space, with over $10 billion in deposits and backing from investors including Ribbit Capital, a16z crypto, and Coinbase Ventures. The team aims to remove barriers to capital and create a financial ecosystem that is accessible worldwide.
This Protocol Engineer role can be based in Paris or worked remotely within GMT -5 to +2 hours to support collaboration across the team.
Role overview
The Protocol Engineer will help shape Morpho’s protocol roadmap, working across all stages of development. This includes research, design, Solidity implementation, and formal audits. The work covers lending solutions, improvements to liquidation processes, oracle integrations, and fixed-rate loan features. Security and system integrity remain central throughout.
Key responsibilities
- Research and design new lending mechanisms, liquidation strategies, and oracle integrations to deliver production-ready features for Morpho.
- Write and review Solidity smart contracts, focusing on accuracy, gas efficiency, and simplicity to protect significant Total Value Locked (TVL).
- Lead protocol initiatives from concept through deployment, sometimes coordinating with multiple teams.
- Apply an adversarial mindset to protocol design to identify and address potential security vulnerabilities.
