The Purchasing Specialist plays a vital role in the procurement process for Consigli Construction by identifying and hiring subcontractors and vendors for designated projects. This position requires close collaboration with the project team, including Estimators and Project Managers, to ensure that all purchasing activities are executed within the projected timeline and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and hire subcontractors and vendors for assigned construction projects.
- Clearly define the scope of work for each trade package prior to procurement.
- Collaborate with project team members to ensure timely and budget-conscious project execution.
- Establish and nurture relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
- Manage the prequalification, bidding, and awarding processes for subcontractors and vendors.
- Conduct risk assessments related to subcontractor and vendor performance.
- Draft subcontracts and material purchase agreements.
- Lead and organize meetings with subcontractors and vendors.
- Facilitate proposal review meetings to ensure clarity of scope.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in management, construction management, engineering, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in procurement or a similar role, preferably within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with construction schedules, drawings, and specifications.
- Experience in reviewing estimates and budgets for construction projects and evaluating subcontractor proposals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills.
