About the job
IgniteAction is on the lookout for a highly skilled, AWS-certified Senior Systems Architect to spearhead the design and governance of intricate modernization projects. These initiatives will include legacy application refactoring, cloud-native transformation, and system-of-systems integration.
Unlike traditional infrastructure architect roles, this position demands architectural leadership across interconnected applications, data pipelines, integration frameworks, and shared services. The successful Architect will facilitate legacy-to-cloud transformations, implement structured migration strategies using the 7 Rs framework, and ensure DevSecOps principles and automated validation are embedded in the architecture from the ground up.
The Architect will act as the technical authority, responsible for establishing scalable, secure, and compliant target-state architectures across various delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. System-of-Systems Architecture Leadership
- Oversee end-to-end architectural design across interdependent systems and workflows.
- Define comprehensive target-state architectures spanning presentation, application, data, and integration layers.
- Guarantee integration consistency across upstream and downstream systems in data-intensive environments.
- Produce and uphold architecture documentation such as:
- Logical, physical, data, and deployment views
- Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Architecture Decision Records (ADRs)
- Conduct architecture reviews and provide authoritative technical guidance to engineering teams.
- Define and enforce architecture standards along with reusable design patterns across multiple teams.
2. Legacy Modernization & Refactoring Strategy
- Establish architectural strategies for refactoring legacy statistical and data-heavy systems.
- Create modular design patterns that maintain:
- Weighting logic
- Variance estimation
- Margin of Error (MOE) calculations
- Statistical reproducibility
- Design architectures that enhance maintainability, scalability, observability, and performance.
- Set up parallel validation and regression testing frameworks to ensure functional equivalence between legacy and modernized systems.
- Guide architectural decisions for refactoring, replatforming, and migration efforts.
3. 7 Rs Migration Framework Governance
- Implement and oversee the 7 Rs migration framework (Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Repurchase, Relocate, Retain, Retire).
- Classify systems based on complexity, risk, dependency centrality, and operational constraints.
- Outline phased migration waves aligned with production cycles and environment onboarding schedules.
- Avoid hybrid cloud/on-premises thrashing through disciplined sequencing and guardrails.
- Develop portfolio-level migration strategies and ...
