Role overview

The Senior Corporate Security Engineer for macOS will help secure the systems used by GitLab’s remote workforce. This position sits within the Corporate Security Engineering team and focuses on building secure-by-default controls for endpoints and the SaaS platforms that support them, with a strong emphasis on macOS devices.

This role involves making technical decisions about endpoint hardening, automation, and detection. The goal is to turn security requirements into engineering solutions that are scalable, measurable, auditable, and user-friendly.

What you will do

  • Establish and maintain security controls for endpoints, especially macOS systems.
  • Lead efforts in endpoint hardening, automation, and detection.
  • Transform security requirements into scalable and auditable engineering systems.
  • Collaborate with teams managing endpoint management, identity, and security operations.
  • Work with Infrastructure-as-Code, Terraform, and GitOps workflows to manage devices across macOS, iOS, Windows, and Linux.
  • Focus on improving endpoint security architecture, expanding automation, and increasing reliability and auditability of controls during the first year.

Requirements

  • Experience solving security challenges through code, especially for macOS environments.
  • Ability to make significant technical decisions related to endpoint security.
  • Comfort working in a remote, collaborative setting.
