Overview
The Senior Intelligence Liaison Officer for West Africa plays a pivotal role as the main intelligence liaison between Prevail and military and intelligence entities in host nations across West Africa and similar challenging environments. This role necessitates high-level engagement, contextualizing intelligence needs, and ensuring that intelligence delivered from the UK is pertinent, prioritized, and operationally effective. The position is primarily deployable, with a balance of time spent in operational environments and coordination activities within the rear team.
The role functions in close collaboration with the UK delivery team, ensuring that forward engagement is matched with continuity, oversight, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Intelligence Liaison and Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the principal liaison between Prevail and host nation military and intelligence partners.
- Establish credible relationships with senior officials and officers, fostering trust and professionalism.
- Partake in sensitive briefings and engagements, navigating political nuances with discretion.
- Professionally represent Prevail in all engagements, ensuring clarity of purpose and expectations.
- Ensure commitments made during engagements are in line with established scope and delivery parameters.
2. Tasking, Prioritization, and Contextualization
- Transform intelligence requirements from host nations into clear, prioritized tasks.
- Contextualize these needs for the UK intelligence team to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
- Utilize sound judgment to prioritize tasks in consultation with the UK delivery lead and Contract Senior Responsible Officer (SRO). Challenge unrealistic requests where necessary and escalate as appropriate.
3. Intelligence Support and Analytical Contribution
- Offer contextual insights and feedback to enhance the quality and applicability of UK-produced intelligence outputs.
- Create light analytical products, situational assessments, or verbal summaries as needed, supporting secure dissemination in line with governance protocols.
4. Forward Presence and Risk Assessment
- Operate primarily in austere or challenging operational environments, evaluating and managing risks effectively.
