Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Experience with Big 4 audit firms is highly regarded. Public accounting experience is preferred. A minimum of six years’ experience as an Inventory or Cost Accountant. Experience in the Manufacturing, Electronics, or Distribution sectors is a plus. Strong understanding of GAAP as it pertains to inventory accounting. Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access is required. Familiarity with SQL report queries is advantageous. Experience with ERP systems is essential, with a strong preference for Oracle.

Join Hyla Mobile as a Senior Inventory Accountant/Cost Accountant, where you will play a vital role in optimizing our inventory management and financial reporting processes. This position involves conducting in-depth inventory analyses, maintaining financial reports, and overseeing general ledger activities. The ideal candidate will manage various aspects of inventory accounting, including the preparation of accruals, inventory reserves, and lower of cost or market (LCM) calculations, while performing essential account reconciliations.

Please note: Our corporate office is transitioning from San Diego to Dallas. The initial three months of this role will require up to 75% travel.

  • Document and maintain inventory sub-processes, ensuring compliance with SOX controls.
  • Execute monthly accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Analyze budget versus actual variances on a monthly basis.
  • Collaborate with the Inventory Manager and accounting team to develop standard closing schedules and procedures.
  • Supervise inventory existence procedures, including wall-to-wall physical inventories and cycle counts in both company and third-party locations.
  • Support the Director of Accounting in monitoring offsite inventory balances and sales activities, collaborating with the Innovation/Process Improvement team to create tracking solutions.
  • Work with the Director of Accounting, Operations, and Sales teams to enhance the carrier settlement process.
  • Contribute to the development and testing of new inventory reports in collaboration with the IT team.
  • Manage non-routine inventory transactions, including write-ups and write-downs.
  • Prepare LCM reserve calculations and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in preparing schedules and reports for external auditors during the annual financial statement audit.
